14.06.2024 Traumtour im Rabaçal abseits der Touristenströme

Verlauf: Endlich mal wollte ich einen Teil der vielen Wege besuchen, die sich vor den Toristenströmen verstecken.
Zusammen mit meiner treuen Wanderbegleiterin Issi bin ich auf dem Wanderparkplatz an der Fanalstrasse auf der Paul da Serra gestartet, erstes Ziel war der Pico Fernandes. Auf der Vereda do Pau Seco ging es zur Kreuzung mit der alten Levada da Senhora. Mittlerweile ist diese Levada doch ziemlich häufig begangen, die Passage durch das Farnfeld ist aber regelmässig zugewachsen, der Weg allerdings ist immer eindeutig.Der Abstieg zur Ribeira Grande ist mittlerweile einfacher als bei meinem ersten Versuch 2022. Sogar der Abstieg ins Bachbett ist mittlerweile entschärft. So konnten wir den wunderschönen Ort im Bachbett der Ribeira Grande ausgiebig geniessen.
Der Aufstieg zum Tunnel ist in der Zwischenzeit mit einem Seil, einem Haltegriff und weiteren Tritten in der Wand deutlich einfacher, etwa 20 m weiter in Fliessrichtung des Baches ist zudem eine Aufstiegsmöglichkeit vorhanden.
Weiter ging es auf der alten Levada bis zur Kreuzung mit dem PR, der von der Levada do Alecrim ou Paul I zur Lagoa do Vento runterführt.
Wir sind allerdings gleich weiter auf der zunehmend verwachsenen Levada da Senhora weitergegangen, bis wir zum kleinen Tunnel kamen, der uns etwas unangenehm niedrig erschien. Zumal wussten wir nicht, in welchem Zustand der Weg auf der andern Seite war.
So kehrten wir um und nahmen den ersten Aufstiegsweg zur Levada do Alecrim ou Paul I. Auf dieser zurück zum erwähnten Abstiegsweg und auf diesem zur Lagoa do Vento. Nach den üblichen Fotos vom Wasserfall und dem Blick zur Aussichtskanzel unterhalb des Riscowasserfalles verliessen wir die markierten Pfade und querten die Felswand neben dem Wasserfall Richtung Vereda do Pau Seco. Hier sollte man definitiv schwindelfrei und trittsicher sein, man sieht zwar nicht in die Tiefe, spürt aber den Abgrund neben dem Weg.
Schliesslich kreuzten wir die Vereda do Pau Seco und weiter ging es auf einem weiteren unmarkierten Weg. Nach einem etwas rutschigen Abstieg erreichten wir den wunderschönen Poço Redondo, eine Lagune in einem Kessel unterhalb eines Wasserfalles.
Ein wunderschöner Ort, den wir ausgiebig genossen.
Danach gibt es eine Mehrfachkreuzung der Wege, ein Weg führt hoch zum Pico dos Balcoes, ein weiterer zum Ort oberhalb des 25-Quellen-Wasserfalles. Wir nahmen den mittleren Weg, der uns zum dritten Highlight des Tages führte: Beijo das Aguas oder waterkiss, ein Wasserfall am Ende einer kleinen Schlucht, wo sich im Winter zwei Wasserfälle 'küssen', bei uns war allerdings nur ein Wasserfall zu sehen, was im Sommer normal ist.
Trotzdem, ein wunderschöner Ort.
Danach begann der steile, atemraubende Aufstieg aus der Schlucht, zuerst über eine Leiter, dann über einen etwas rutschigen Pfad, vorbei an einem schönen Wasserfall der uns schliesslich zum Umgehungspfad des PR13, den wir eine Woche vorher bereits mit meiner Frau begangen haben. Auf disem zum PR13 und dann auf dem Weg quer durch die Farnhänge zur Ribeira da Agua Negra und zum Pico Fernandes.
Ab hier auf dem gleichen Weg zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Distanz: 17.2 Km, 580 Hm Aufstieg, 580 Hm Abstieg

Start: 09.21 Fanalstrasse

Ende: 17.05 Fanalstrasse

Zustand: Für die ganze Wanderung sind Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit absolut nötig
Die Runde sollte nur in Begleitung begangen werden.
Nach Regenfällen ist der Abstieg von der Fanalstrasse zum Beijo das Aguas etwas kritisch

Bemerkungen: Schöne Kombination von 3 ausserordentlich schönen einsamen Orten
