Levada do Posto Aquicola do Ribeiro Frio oder Levada do Ribeiro Frio


Gegend: Ribeiro Frio

Madre: Oberhalb des Poiso-Passes N 32°42.773' W 16°53.825' ca. 1397 M.ü.M.

Verlauf: Das Wasser wird in einem ca. 30 Meter langen Stollen gefasst, der sich nochmals verzweigt. Der Stollen liegt fast genau unter dem Wasserstollen der Levada do Blandy.
Die Levada verläuft zunächst in einem Baumheidetunnel und ist breit freigeschlagen. Nach einem relativ steilen Stück erreicht sie den Ribeiro Frio, dem sie bis zum Erreichen der ER103 folgt. Dort, wo die Piste zum verschlossenen Tor führt, verschwindet sie verrohrt im Unterholz und umgeht einen kleinen Hügel zwischen Strasse und Ribeiro Frio, um dann am Rand der ER103 nochmals in einem offenen Brunnen kurz aufzutauchen.
Ab hier verläuft sie verrohrt neben der Strasse bis oberhalb von Ribeiro Frio. Hier geht sie Richtung Ribiro Frio und entlädt das Wasser aus dem Schlauch als Wasserfall in den Ribeiro.
Kurz darauf wird das Wasser mit einer Zwischenmadre wieder aufgefangen und über die bekannte Levadatreppe zu den Fischteichen in Ribeiro Frio geleitet

Unterwegs fliessen an 11 Stellen kleine Zusatzlevadas in den Haupast, die unterschiedlich viel Wasser führen.
Es sind dies:

- 2 Zuflüsse aus kleineren Stollen, einer ist etwa 4 Meter lang, der andere etwa 8 Meter
- 3 Direkte Fassungen an Quellen
- 2 Fassungen über Schläuche im Ribeiro Frio (einer bei der Bifurkation)
- 1 Fassung in einem Nebenbach des Ribeiro Frio
- 1 Fassung über eine Madre im Ribeiro Frio
- 1 Fassung über ein Rohr, das ich nicht verfolgt habe
- 1 Fassung, die Richtung Ribeiro Frio geht, aber ziemlich zugewuchert war und auch kaum Wasser enthielt

Ende: Fischteiche in Ribeiro Frio ca. 900 M.ü.M.

Funktion: Wasserzufuhr zu den Fischteichen in Ribeiro Frio

Zugang:

- ER103 im Bereich der Piste, die zum geschlossenen Tor führt
- Klassische Ribeiro-Frio-Spazierwege zur Levadatreppe und zu den Fischteichen
- Trampelpfad vom Picknickplatz neben der Levada do Blandy und der Strasse vom Poiso-Pass zum Areeiro.

Zustand: Die Levada selbst ist relativ steil, bis zur Bifurkation aber gut zu gehen. Der Abstieg zur Bifurkation ist etwas rutschig und schlecht gestuft, aufwärts einfacher als abwärts! Es folgt eine Passage, die sehr eng ist und etwa 6 Meter senkrecht über dem Ribeiro Frio verläuft. Weiter unten folgt noch eine Levadabrücke, die relativ steil und rutschig ist, auch hier einfacher im Aufstieg.
Dann muss ein Stück im Bachbett gegangen werden, im Winter eventuell schwieriger als im Sommer.
Kurz darauf erreicht man den Weg, der vom Poisopass kommt und der bis zur Strasse der Levada entlang führt.
Die Umgehung kurz vor der Verrohrung an der Strasse ist sehr dicht und wenig empfehlenswert, zumal die Levada hier verrohrt ist.

Bemerkungen:

Spannende, urtümliche Levada, die ich eher im Aufstieg empfehle. Trittsicherheit und etwas Schwindelfreiheit nötig
Die Bifurkation ist eine Stelle, wo man von unten kommend sich für eine Seite entscheiden muss. Beide Levadas haben ziemlich gleich viel Wasser. Die rechte Levada endet allerdings nach kurzer Zeit im Bachbett und ist eine zuführende Levada (Nr. 8)!
