30.06.2022 Anspruchsvolle Besteigung des Pico do Meio Dia

Verlauf: Leider unsere einzige Tour 2022 mit unseren bewährten Guides der Madeira Wonder Hikes, alle andern fielen buchstäblich ins Wasser...
Wir sind auf dem üblichen Zugang von der Strasse zum Miradouro do Pastel zur Levada da Achada Grande hochgestiegen.
Der Einstieg zum Pfad auf den Pico do Meio Dia befindet sich gleich gegenüber und dann ging es auf den Grat hoch und weiter auf dem Grat bis zum Gipfel.
Es gibt eigentlich mehrere Gipfel, es geht mehr oder weniger immer hoch und runter, bis dann der kurze Abstieg Richtung Poio das Rabacas beginnt. Man trifft auf den relativ breiten Weg entlang der Ribeira dos Moinhos.
Auf diesem bis zur Madre der Levada da Achada Grande.
Ab hier entlang der Levada da Achada Grande bis zu einem alternativen Abstieg, der kürzlich freigeschlagen wurde.
Am Schluss standen wir wieder auf der Strasse zum Miradouro do Pastel.

Distanz: 6.1 Km, 546 Hm Aufstieg, 546 Hm Abstieg

Start: 09.05 Strasse zum Miradouro do Pastel

Ende: 16.50 Strasse zum Miradouro do Pastel

Zustand: Der Aufstieg sollte wirklich nur mit ortskundigen Führern gemacht werden.
Teilweise schön frei, aber dazwischen musste doch ziemlich gearbeitet werden, bis man durchs Unterholz gehen konnte.
Der Grat ist teilweise schön breit, teilweise aber nur 50 cm breit und beidseitig ausgesetzt, da braucht es absolute Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit. Manchmal muss auf dem schmalen Grat auch geklettert werden!
Der Abstieg auf dem wie immer rutschigen Weg entlang der Ribeira dos Moinhos war dann geradezu erholsam....
Der alternative Abstieg von der Levada da Achada Grande ist deutlich angenehmer, weil weniger rutschig.
