11.05.2019 Nochmals auf die Levada da Roda

Anfahrt: Santo da Serra - Aguas Mansas - Fonte dos Alocreves

Verlauf: Nachdem ich 2016 den inaktiven bzw. nur noch rudimentär funktionierenden Teil der Levada da Roda gesucht habe, machte ich mich dieses Jahr auf die Erforschung der horizontalen Äste dieser unbekannten Levada. An der Rua da Lombada steht eine ziemlich verfallene Wassermühle, deren Aquaedukt aber sehr gut erhalten ist, das wenige Wasser wird vom Beginn des Aquaeduktes auf die Felder aud der östlichen Seite der Strasse geleitet.
Auf der anderen Strassenseite beginnt die Vereda Levada da Roda, zunächst ohne Levada, die dann aber nach 20 Metern aus dem Nichts auftaucht, bzw. über ein Rohr vermutlich von der Levada dos Tornos reichlich mit Wasser gefüllt wird. Die Levada scheint (Stand 2019) neu renoviert zu sein. Ein Betonhäuschen auf der Levada zweigt ein paar 100 Meter weiter Wasser in einen Nebenast ab, der ursprünglich eine Wassermühle angetrieben hat, auch hier ist der Aquaedukt sehr gut erhalten, das Haus ist zu verkaufen.... Bei meiner Begehung war die Levada danach trocken, aber in Gebrauch, weiter auf dem Begleitweg nach Südwesten. Aus einem Rohr wird bei einem Waschhaus wieder Wasser eingeleitet, und diesem bin ich entlanggegangen, bis es als Vertikallevada Richtung Meer hinunterschiesst. Dies ist der südöstliche Endast.
Zurück zum Waschhaus und dort bin ich dem Geräusch des Wasser gefolgt auf einem neu aussehenden Betonweg. Ich kam an den Fuss eines Wasserspeichers. Um den Wasserspeicher herum sieht man jede Menge Spuren alter Levadarinnen und Röhren, einer Spur bin ich etwa 100 Meter nach Westen gefolgt, bis sie sich im Unterholz verlor. Ich vermute, dies war ursprünglich der südwestliche Endast. Nach den Beschreibungen des Caminheiros Anonimos kann man den vertikalen Teil dieses Endastes über den Weg erreichen, der vom Waschhaus wegführt.
Ich ging zurück zum Waschhaus und auf dem gleichen Weg über die Levada zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Zustand: Neu renovierte gute Beton-Begleitpfade, teils auch als Wiesenlevadas

Bemerkungen: Nächstes Projekt wäre die Beurteilung der Vertikallevadas und vor allem der Verlauf des südwestlichen Endastes.
